Matthew Bulgo



Matthew was born and raised in Swansea, South Wales before training at LAMDA. He is an artistic director of True/Fiction Theatre.


As an actor credits include: Under Milk Wood (Royal & Derngate, Northampton), The Exquisite Corpse (True/Fiction Theatre, Wales Millennium Centre & Edinburgh Fringe), The Prince Hamlet (Toronto Dance Theatre), Breakfast Hearts, Choirplay, Patching Havoc (Theatre 503), BANK (Kings Head), The Play About The Baby , Feeding Time (BAC), Bloody Sunday (Tricycle), Words & Music (Ruth is Stranger than Richard), The Secret of Belonging, Stella Time, Crazy Gary’s Mobile Disco, Gull (all Antic Corporation), Hamlet (Natural Perspectives Theatre Co.), The Ceremony (Soho Writers Theatre), Hostage:Bleach:Burn (Etcetera Theatre), The Push and The Pull (Sherman Cymru), Company, Cabaret (Broadway Studio), Sweeney Agonistes (Arcola Theatre), Quinto Quarto (Union Theatre) Repeat (Dirty Protest) and rehearsed readings for The Globe, The Caird Company, Sgript Cymru, and Soho Theatre.


As a Director, credits include Bash, Riddance and Mr. Theatre Comes Home Different (all for True/Fiction). Carnival, Lunch Break, Her Big Day (Dirty Protest), Blood Wedding, Hamlet, Ballboys, The Dwarfs, No Exit, The Day I Ran Out of Sky, & The Birthday Party.


As a writer, Matthew's first play Opus
was produced in 2007 as part of the LOST One Act Festival, and his most recent play is currently under development with Sherman Cymru. 


Matthew has co-produced all of True/Fiction's productions to date.
