Intermission was performed by True/Fiction at The Space Summer Festival in August 2005.

A wry and subversive look at the nature of theatre and life, written by Will Eno, whose previous shows include Thom Pain (based on nothing), The Flu Season, and Tragedy: A Tragedy.

John Buxton
Jack

John trained at LAMDA. Theatre credits include Thoroughly Stupid Things, The Two Gentlemen of Verona (both Manhattan Theatre Source), The House of Yes (Neighbourhood Playhouse), Murder Uncensored (Wings Theatre), Fools in Love, Tempest Tossed Fools (both Manhattan Ensemble Theatre), The Hamlet Plays (Michael Weller Theatre) and Intermission (True/Fiction Theatre, The Space). Film and TV credits include Allegiance, Life After Death (both NYU), Emotionally Yours (SVA), Party Girl (Discovery Home Channel) and The Bermuda Triangle (National Geographic Channel).

Justin trained at LAMDA, graduating in 2002.
Theatre credits include Stringer in The Changing Room (dir. Colin Cook, The Royal Court), B in Crave (dir. Matt Peover, BAC), Horatio in Hamlet (dir. Matt Peover, Natural Perspectives Theatre Company).
Short Films incluse Looking After Loved Ones (dir. Wes West).
Roles at LAMDA included Azzazello in The Master & Margarita (dir. Helena Kaut-Howson) and William Shakespeare in The School of Night (dir. Aaron Mullen).

 



 

Marianne Oldham Jill

Marianne Oldham graduated from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2003. Since then she has played: Ros in We Happy Few at the Malvern Theatre; Ines in The Gentleman from Olmedo and Beatrice in The Venetian Twins at The Watermill Theatre, Berkshire; and Sally in Finally the Girl at The Old Red Lion Theatre, Islington. She is currently working on the BBC ‘s The Impressionists.


 



Imogen Smith Mrs. Smith  

Theatre includes Anya Pakhanova in Thermidor, part of To the Mountain, three short plays by Trevor Griffiths; Conflict and Beauty in Madrid; Hekabe in Trojan Women with Actors of Dionysus; Mrs Smith in Intermission with True/Fiction; Hippolyta and First Fairy in A Midsummer Night's Dream at Hampton Court; Woman in Edward Albee's The Play About the Baby at the BAC; Jennet Jourdemayne in The Lady's Not For Burning with Actions and Words; Mrs Macbeth's Hostile Bid and A Christmas Carol with the Common Players, Marie in Woyzeck with Theatre Melange; The Winter's Tale at the Royal Theatre, Northampton; and Virgilia in Coriolanus with Steven Berkoff. This autumn she will be touring with The Mona Lisas, a co-production by Theatre Melange and Ariel Theatre of Romania.

Julia McShane Director

Julia graduated from Middlesex University, London, gaining a BA (Hons) in Drama and Theatre Arts. During her time at Middlesex she specialised in directing, acting and stand-up comedy. Some of her directing credits at university include Early Morning, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui and Waiting for Godot. Most recent directing credits include A Five Minute Play to Last a Lifetime (Floodtide Theatre Company) and The Farmyard, a devised piece for Bigfoot Theatre Company. Assistant directing includes Broken Voices (The New Company), a collection of eight new pieces by international playwrights at the Tristan Bates Theatre, More Light, The Caucasian Chalk Circle and Hamlet (Chester Gateway Theatre). She also now runs and performs with her own stand-up comedycompany who perform at venues in and around London.
